Valentines Rose

Sunday 14th February Valentines Day

A great day - off we went to Attingham Park - a regular venue for us - to celebrate Valentines Day - the Park regularly offer different events at noted times of the year - and Valentines was no exception.

Today was tree planting to mark the occasion - so we parked up the car amongst the cow pats in the park - went to investigate the pros and cons - chose the tree - a wild rose - payed the fee - and after a demonstration on what to do - trundled off with a wheelbarrow full of mulch and a spade - dug a hole - planted the tree and posed for a pic- care of a very nice National Trust person

Ooh - we also had a certificate to mark the event

A brilliant time had by all - including Blue who to my horror had a passion for cow pats like no other - so had to be restrained on her lead - aahh!!!!!

Lyth Hill Walk

Today I took an early walk with my dog Blue on Lyth Hill the haunt of authoress Mary Webb

The hill was covered in mist no sight today of sister hills Caer Caradoc - Lawley - Wrekin - and Stiperstones

The gorse was in bloom - old saying being ( as long as the gorse blooms kissing is not out of fashion)

I can't really remember a time when I have not seen the gorse in bloom on the hill !!

I took my camera with me because quite often you can see the neighbouring hills towering above the band of mist - but not today see pics attached
