ABC Wednesday and B is for .....

ABC Wednesday and B is for Bus - last weekend - can you feel the pulseBeat from these old buses - taking guests to a wedding reception cruising through the streets of Acton Burnell a tiny village in Mid Shropshire
Speeding away past the village post office - closed today of course
I thought you may like this little ditty from a very old Shropshire book passed down in our family. 'A nut and a kernel Say the Bells of Acton Burnell'
We waited a while for the buses to appear and were able to take a few pics of the bees having a Buzzing time in the village gardens. Butterflies ? no - unfortunately they are struggling for survival due to the shocking wet summer - see link Although good news I saw a Woodland White and a LBN ( little brown number) terminology taken from the birding fraternity (it flew over the hedge before I could identify it !! Beautifuk sunny day in Shropshire today - I am off the check my Buddlea bush for bees and butterflies - linking this week to ABC Wednesday - Our World Tuesday - and Nature Notes -lovely to have your company today - Jane

  6. B for Bernard as well. :)
Actually, what came first to mind was that rhyme -
    A for 'orses.
    B for mutton.
    C for yourself
and so on, through Q for oranges and my fav.
    P for relief. :o
We used to have a vintage coach service around here that offered day trips. It was a great day out but they folded up because of the dreaded eu 'Elf & safety rules. Sad really.
    Cheers....B

  13. I am drooling here! I am a busdriver and love those old buses. To see mind, it's apparently quite hard to drive them. Although I would love to try one day. Thank you for the beautiful shots.

The bee and the flowers is such a pretty picture, but what a shame about the poor butterflies.
