Shadows - Castles- and of course Pictures
Shadow Shot Sunday and a day out to Chirk Castle - first a morning walk for a browse around at the car boot and then on to chase a little history.
Chirk Castle was built between 1295-1310 - had many owners of which at least 5 were executed for treason.
In 1595 the estate was sold to a merchant adventurer Thomas Myddleton and remained in that family until 1978 when the estate was handed over to the National Trust

Look at the tree shadows dancing on the castle turret
Castle walls and more shadows
Through the gateway into the courtyard
Larking about in the stocks
Welsh flag flies high over the clock tower
The magnificent state dining room
Birds' eye view from the castle turret window
Looking back ! - a great day out - I forgot to mention the honey comb icecream consumed in the courtyard - well it is to be recommended!
